The reed size you select will depend on the yarn, your project and project and the finish you are looking for. The following is a guide only:
- 2.5dpi (10/10) - 14 ply, chunky yarns and art yarns
- 5dpi (20/10) - 12 ply and thick yarns
- 7.5dpi (30/10) - 8ply and novelty yarns
- 10dpi (40/10) - 4ply and sock yarn
- 12.5dpi (50/10) - laceweight, 2ply cottons and silk
- 15dpi (60/10) - laceweight, fine 2ply, cotton and silk
