Blackwattle has built up a huge catalogue of hand dyed yarn colours over the years. Our mix of multi-coloured, variegated, tonal and semi-solid colourways have been designed to shine separately as single skeins, but also to talk to the others in our collection, either directly or through connecting colours.

The collection of thumbnails displayed below are the colourways that are in our current rotation of stocked and dyed-to-order recipes. They have been photographed on our fingering weight Sweet Pea base, the first of our yarn blends to launch most newly added colourways due to it’s popularity.

Please note, these images are to be used as a guide only. Blackwattle yarns are hand dyed, so each skein will be unique in it’s own special way. Though we use the same recipe batch to batch, each wash of dye splashes in different ways, colours blend uniquely and sprinkles of dye may not fall in the same spots as last time. It’s part of what makes hand dyed yarns so special!

Different yarn bases may also interact with dyes differently and can exhibit varying levels of saturation and colour vibrancy. For base specific visual references, you can find individual photos against each product in the shop sections of our website.
