4 ply / Fingering Weight - Australian Alpaca Yarn
Blackwattle’s Wattle yarn is a limited edition range of 4ply (fingering weight) 100% Australian Huacaya alpaca. The alpaca fibre in this yarn has been grown in South Australia and processed especially for us in New Zealand. This yarn is super soft, silky and truly is a stunning yarn! Wattle makes beautiful shawls, wraps, tops, gloves and scarves.
Even more exciting, the fibre in this yarn is 100% traceable, meaning we can trace the fibre to the farm where it has been grown and in some cases to the actual alpacas.

Meterage: Approx. 350 metres (387 yards) per skein
Gauge: 28.0 sts to 10cm
Needles: 2.25mm – 4.0mm (US 1 – 6) depending on the fabric you require for your project. As a guide;
2.25mm – 3.5mm (US 1 – 4) – Sweaters and tops.
3.75mm – 4mm (US 5 – 6) – Shawls and scarves.
Hooks: 2.25 to 3.5mm (B-1 to E-4) depending on the fabric you require for your project.
Colours: Hand dyed colourways, dyed on our farm as listed below.
Care: Non superwashed – We suggest a gentle hand wash. We recommend drying garments flat and not tumble drying.
