Joey Pouch Making
We believe in supporting our community so to help in this terrible situation we are getting our crafting community together to make joey pouches to donate to our wonderful wildlife carers working to save our precious native animals!
Recently we opened our workshop and dye studio and provided a space for people to come and make joey pouches for the local Wildcare Regional Group.
Over 3 days (17th, 18th and 25th January) we had over 40 ladies, all armed with scissors and sewing machines, come to the farm and make over 600 pouches. All have been donated to the local Wildcare Regional Group and all will be shared with the local carers.
Over the three days Catherine Burgess, a kangaroo and joey carer from Yass, came to our farm with 4 of her beautiful joeys, giving us an opportunity to cuddle a joey and take inspiration from them over the weekend.
We will be running these workshops 4 times a year and the scheduled events will be advertised on our Facebook page.
